Music and dancing are important parts of my life. I love to get wrapped up in the music, to get lose, feeling the rhythm and to make my moves. From the music, to the muscle, to the magic. Another important point in my everyday life is the fitness. I have been a member in different sport clubs for as long as I can remember. So I practiced many sports active and successful. Dance and Sport make me forget the stress of the day, keep myself fit and happy.
For that Pole Dance is the ideal sport which combines all my interests. It is a kind of dance with and around a pole which strains every muscle from head to toe. Furthermore it promotes your physical fitness, flexibility and supports your body tension and posture. One Pole clamped between floor and ceiling makes a small gym at home. The static poles can be switched to rotating through integrated ball bearings which enables you to perform rotating moves much easier. Pole Dancing trains the whole body while having a lot of fun. Once if the Pole Dance fever has seized you, you are not able to pass a tree or a road sign without wanting to climb it.
Pole Dancing is comparable to the artistic from the section of the “Chinese Poles”. Within Pole Dance you can find many moves from this sport almost exclusively performed by men. Some of the moves arise or are adopted directly from “Chinese Pole”. The most known trick is “The Flag” which requires an extraordinary trained upper-body musculature. Originally “Chinese Pole” evolved from the art of getting easily over your enemies walls in times of war. In this respect, it is an essential part of Chinese acrobatics since thousands of years. In modern times it established as the artists began to include the horizontal poles in the circus tent in their performances. By the interplay of several artists and different arrangements of poles (e.g. cube) a perfect artistic spectacle emerged which you can find in the most famous circuses in the world (Cirque de Soleil). In contrast to “Chinese Pole” where the separate artistic elements are rowed up artistically, the moves are linked through dancing in Pole Dance which yields to a smoother transition. But dancing increasingly recedes into the background whereas more weight is attached on fitness in Pole Dance, too.
Throughout the world more and more athletes grasp the pole, whereby almost daily new moves evolve. Pole Dancing is a new, young, trendy sport, which is spreading rapidly and continuously developing. That’ s why there are a lot of events, beyond the national and international championships, where you are able to meet the stars of the scene. Pole Dancing can be learned in dancing schools and gyms. It is a sport for all ages regardless of gender or the previous knowledge.
